The Creators of The Esteem Dream Corp.

Inspired by the power of Experience Marketing to influence an audience and the notion that society could be different if people had a greater sense of self-worth, Sarah Varley and Jennifer Hilborn formed The Esteem Dream Corp. in 2001.

The first proprietary event of The Esteem Dream Corp. is an electric esteem-building event series for teenage girls called The Girl Event. This event launched in Toronto Fall 2003 to a sold-out crowd of 1300 teenage girls and returned for two more successful shows in October 2004. This event series secured sponsorships from some of Canada's leading corporations, including Rogers Communications, Hudson's Bay Company, Proctor & Gamble and Universal Music and received broad media coverage across all four major Canadian news outlets. In addition, the principals, Hilborn and Varley, were profiled on CTV's Canada AM for their social entrepreneurship. A similar event for boys called Real Guys is currently in development.

A division of The Esteem Dream Corp., Esteemed Events, offers strategic event marketing, corporate social responsibility and sponsorship consulting. Recent clients include Tennis Canada, Rogers Media, Novo Nordisk Canada, the Anemia Institute, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, The Hearing Foundation of Canada and the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario. Esteemed Events hosts and manages all of Canadian Fundraiser's workshops for charities outside of Toronto and they have developed a Special Events workshop for Canadian Fundraiser. Varley and Hilborn have been invited to speak on sponsorship for the Sponsorship Report, Ontario Festivals and Events Conference, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Prior to the creation of The Esteem Dream and Esteemed Events, Hilborn and Varley each built solid careers in Marketing Communications.

Jennifer HilbornJennifer Hilborn is an expert communicator with extensive Canadian and international experience. Jennifer has learned from hands-on experience that business can successfully address both its own goals and societal concerns.

In 1999, representing Ericsson, Jennifer successfully led the creation of a unique global tri-sector social issue partnership. The innovative partnership, involving Ericsson, the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Organization, and the United Nations, aimed to address global disaster response. Its success, resulted in Ericsson's inclusion as a "good corporate citizen" in the Millennium Report of the Secretary General of the UN, the first time such public recognition had ever been given by the UN to a corporation. In 2000 Jennifer was invited to participate as a panelist at the United Nations Economic & Social Summit.

Jennifer also created her own column, bCause in a local Toronto newspaper, ETC News focusing on socially responsible corporations in her community. Her volunteer work also includes leading a weekly youth group and sitting on a selection committee for Flare Magazine's Annual Volunteer Awards.

Sarah VarleySarah Varley is a natural in her vocation as an event marketing and strategic communications manager.
